Cult UK Hip-Hop Icon Kid Acne Unravels the Mysteries of 'ERANU/UVAVU'

After hatching out the cosmic egg and asking “what you halfwits know about super science?”, the Sheffield-based "rhyme Dionysus" rides the vapour trail of Spectacular Diagnostics’ tough kicks scuffed in a spin cycle. Further stimulated by a lip-curling hook straight out the 90s and a sci-fi outro where reality starts folding in, ‘ERANU/UVAVU’ is the science of the two, mastering the South Yorks experience via Chicago, Illinois.

'HAUNTOLOGY CODES' is Kid Acne's sixth solo album and continues to tackle the off kilter with disarming self-deprecation, with the title nailing the true aesthetics of hip-hop reaching its 50th year. Spectacular Diagnostics (who Acne provided artwork for his recent 'Raw Lessons' LP) is back reporting for a third stint on production, unveiling another slew of gritty, self-styled Moon Bap beats; while Acne stars as "bombastic graffiti bastard", "spitting bars through the avant garde avatar".

After the successes of 'NULL AND VOID' and 'HAVE A WORD', the Kid Acne machine, with over 20 years experience of producing both art and music, rolls on: no nonsense idiosyncratic raps raising a titillatingly quizzical eyebrow, ‘HAUNTOLOGY CODES’ received praise from The Wire (“endless fun to be had on a tight set’), MOJO magazine and Bandcamp, with radio support from BBC 6 Music’s Deb Grant, Tom Ravenscroft and Don Letts, and Radio X’s John Kennedy.
